Role of Governors
It's role is to provide the strategic direction of the school, working with the Headteacher to establish a strong vision for the future and identifying clear School Improvement priorities. The governing body also plays an active role in monitoring and evaluating the progress of the school by reviewing the effectiveness of school policy and the impact of our school improvement and impact strategy.
The role of the Governing Body:
Ensures clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
Holds the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
Oversees the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
Support staff and Headteacher wellbeing
Structure:
We have 2 committees, who meet 3 times per year and our Full Governing Board who also meets termly.
Achievement and Wellbeing Committee: Curriculum, Standards, SEND, Safeguarding(Chair: Ruth Martin)
Business Management Committee: Health and Safety, Buildings, Finance (Chair: Zoe Lochlin)
Full Governing Board: School improvement direction, Self-evaluation, Financial Standards & Budget Approval, Ratification, (Chair: Arwyn Jones)
Governors hold key link roles to review certain aspects of the school's work. These include Pupil Achievement, Safeguarding including Children in Care, Curriculum, EYFS, Wellbeing, Health and Safety, Pupil Premium, Special Educational Needs, School's finance. Governing Board Vacancy
Are you passionate about supporting education and shaping the future of young learners? Malpas Alport Primary School is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Governing Board as a Co-opted Governor.
