Our School Day
Children can arrive in school from 8.30am and our school day starts at 8.45am when the children are registered while completing short, focused activities set by the class teacher. The school day ends at 3.15pm when the children are collected by their parents or carers from the playground. This is a total of 32.5 hours in school each week.
Playtime and Lunch time.
Playtime is from 10.30 to 10.45. We have two playgrounds, one for key stage 1 children and another for key stage 2. We have have a trim-trail and a multi-activity sports cage as well as having lots of equipment for the children to play with. Lunch time for foundation stage and key stage 1 starts at 12.00pm and ends at 1pm. For lower keystage 2 lunch time begins at 12.15pm and ends at 1pm. For upper keystage 2 lunchtime starts at 12.30pm and ends at 1.15pm. After a request from our school councilors we now encourage key stage 1 and key stage 2 children to play together on a Friday which give the older children a chance to engage and interact with the younger children in school.
Drop off and Collection.
Children can arrive to school from 8.30am at which point a teacher will be on duty to supervise the children. At the end of the school day children should be collected from the playground. The school gates will open from 3.15pm to allow parents to wait for their children. If you find that you will be late for any reason or there is a change in the person collected your child please ring the office to let us know.
Assemblies.
During the week we have regular whole school assemblies. Mrs Wetton (Headteacher) leads whole school Equality assemblies on Monday and also on our Celebration Assembly on Friday, where parents are invited to share in the celebrations. In addition class teachers lead music assemblies on Wednesdays on various themes throughout the year. And class based assemblies occur on other days using myhappy mind and circle time.
